Packet Pickup and Late Registration

Hello Runners!

We are looking forward to seeing you this weekend at the Blue Mountain Beach races!

This e-mail is going out to all that we have registered who gave us a good e-mail address.....some things we just can't help...

You may receive further e-mails that say the exactly same thing....that's because we want to try to make sure that everyone gets this. You may receive further updates...please read the e-mails, check the Facebook page, web site....

SATURDAY 5K and 10 mile races

NEW START & FINISH:

The 5K and 10 mile will now start and finish at essentially the same location as the 1/2 marathon and 10K. That is, the intersection of 30A and DeFuniak (County Road 283S) in Grayton Beach! Race time is still 7:00 am for the 5K with the 10 mile starting asap after.  As with these races in the past, they take place on the recreationa/bike path and are an out and back. The 10 mile runs the same race as before, just with a different start/finish line since the 10 mile race has always run through this intersection to the Watercolor turn around and back. The 5K will run from the intersection to the Watercolor turn around and back to the intersection...which is also the finish line. This is a more scenic 5K than the previous version! The Watercolor turn around will be marked with a cone and a sign....please turn around there.

SUNDAY 10K & 1/2 MARATHON

THERE ARE NO CHANGES TO THE ROUTE OR START TIME FOR THESE SUNDAY RACES!

PACKET PICK UP

We are please to announce that we have a new sponsor this year, 30A Local Properties.

30A LOCAL Properties is located at 35 Clayton Lane, Suite B, Grayton Beach, FL. This is a stones throw from the Hurricane Oyster Bar & Grill AND it is where all packet pick up will take place....YES...for all races!!

30A Local is just off of County Road 283S and is approximately .2 miles from the start/finish area at the 30A/DeFuniak intersection so its a warm up jog/easy walk.

PACKET PICK UP TIMES:

5K & 10 mile (21.1K): Friday, Oct 6 from 5-7 pm; Saturday (race) morning before the race 6-6:45 am. There is no packet pick up for the 1/2 or 10K at either of these.

1/2 marathon & 10K: Saturday, Oct 7 from 4-6 pm; Sunday (race) morning before the race 6:00-6:45 am.

Blue Mountain Beach Man/Sand Dune Man/26.2@Blue: Numbers will be given at Friday evening or pre-race packet pick up as you'll be using the same number through the weekend; 26.2 at Blue shirts following 10mi awards on Saturday morning.

RACE PARKING

Parking for all races will be at the 30A Local parking lot and/or the public parking lot that is across the road from 30A Local's complex. Again, this is a short (.2+/- mile) jog/run/walk/meander to the start and finish for both days.

AWARDS

The awards ceremonies will be held at the 30A Local offices...out front.

5K awards are intended to start at 7:50..after 10 mi begins

10Mi awards are intended to start at 10:00

10K awards are intended to start at 8:15-8:30

1/2 marathon awards are intended to start at 10:00

(These are subject to change depending on how quickly the timing company can get the results to us!!!!! PLEASE do not complain to us about the time that it takes; truly, it is outside of our control.)

WEATHER

If it ain't one thing, it's another...construction that's changed the Saturday start/finish (though it'll probably be a permanent change) and now a little disturbance in the Gulf that might rain on our parade. We are watching the potential for tropical weather. At present, we are moving forward. We are in contact with relevant authorities and, at this time, there has been no mention of the potential to cancel the races. PLEASE watch the Blue Mountain Beach Race Facebook page as that is the quickest way for me to pass on information. I will also try to continue with e-mails. The website takes longer to change but we are going to try to get to it as often as we can as well.  Let's all just keep our collective fingers crossed that "Nate" doesn't crash the party.

Thank you for racing with us! WE look forward to seeing you in a few days!
